I was deeply honored when Erik and Chloe asked me to photograph their wedding day. The stakes are high when your clients are not just real life friends, but also extremely creative and fashionable individuals with impeccable taste, not surprising given they are both designers. From the floral arrangements, to the wedding officiant, photographer, and other elements, they wanted their family and friends to contribute to making this day memorable. As a nod to their beloved home in the Marin Headlands, and the place where they love to spend a lot of time riding bikes, Chloe and Erik chose a venue (The Travis Marina bar) that is an understated iconic hangout spot for cyclists wanting to have a cold beer in an unpretentious place at the end of a ride. With views overlooking Golden Gate Bridge at sunset and the city of San Francisco in the distance, this venue is both humble and majestic at the same time. With typical Bay Area weather, we got a bit of fog, a bit of rain, and sunny skies during the ceremony, which helped make the photos moody, windy and definitely very San Francisco.
