I had long wanted to document a wedding at Oz Farm, and when Krista and Brad asked me to photograph their wedding, I was beyond excited for the opportunity. Oz Farm is a special, magical place, and it takes special people to appreciate it and choose to celebrate their union there. Founded in the 60s, Oz is one of the few remaining intentional communities on the coast of California. Some of the original buildings (like the geodesic domes in the first photo below) are still standing, and the new owners are growing organic food, making cider, hosting guests on the secluded cabins and yurts, as well as teaching a new generation of farmers through their farm apprenticeship program. It's off the grid, with very humble amenities, fit for those types who truly want to feel like they're going back in time to a simpler, more grounded lifestyle. For weddings, you can rent the entire property for an extended weekend, and have all your friends and family stay there. I think I really love photographing three day weddings on farms, getting to know the couple and the guests and documenting not just the wedding itself, but all the fun moments throughout the weekend. Here are some of my favorite photos from Krista and Brad's wedding.
